Scaling and Root Planing

This procedure is much more involved than a regular healthy cleaning, allowing extra time and care to remove bacteria and tartar trapped below the gumline that created the pockets. It is important to know that patients with diagnosed gum disease will be closely monitored and cared for in our office, requiring 3-4 maintenance visits a year.
