Periodontal Evaluations

Your hygienist will do yearly evaluations of your gum tissue to assess for any pocketing that can lead to periodontal gum disease. Gum disease, if not treated, will give way to bone loss around the affected teeth and subsequent loss of those teeth. When warranted, your hygienist and dentist may recommend a deep cleaning, or scaling and root planing to correct the pocketing and return your gums into it’s healthiest state.
